Hi Brian.

The Summit comes with an onboard database which you can only update by getting downloads or physical discs from En-Vision America.  Summit came with a 2 GB storage card for your recordings.  I upgraded to the 4 GB storage card.  The Galaxy has 8 GB.  The Galaxy has an additional mode of identification and information access through wireless Internet connectivity, which provides for an extended database.
