[Electronics-Talk] I.D. Mate database and Trader Joe's

Hi Gadget Girl.
Sounds like a good plan. My husband has been labelling his CDs like mad. It amazes me how many are already in the database, especially since he doesn't buy any new artists.

I think the Galaxy is a bit different from the Summit, in that it says the reading head is on the side. We can't picture that. I hope, when you get it, you will send a description to the list.
Tracy

Hello Tracy.

When I purchased the ID mate Summit at a NFB convention in 2012, I had every intention of labeling items in my home. But I got real busy with life, studying braille, etc., and set the Summit down to use later. Unfortunately, there it sat brand-new in a box for years. Now that I am at a comfortable level with braille and all, i'm ready to start labeling my items. When I visited the En-Vision America website to purchase labels, I noticed they had a new unit… The Galaxy. After reading the specs, I decided to go with that unit and sell my Summit. I ordered additional En-Vision America dishwasher safe labels, adhesive barcode labels, and iron on labels. I plan on labeling items such as: clothes, shoes, accessories, bed linens, curtains, containers I keep teas in, books, CDs, and a whole host of other items. I live in a cold climate, and noticed the Dynamo labeling tape always falls off during wintertime. The Summit is a good unit, but I want a unit I can independently update over the Internet. I also like the additional storage which allows room for growth. Other than that, I believe it is basically the same as the Summit?

Regards,
Gadget Girl
