Brad,
To my knowledge, the iPhone app Red Laser uses video, or did you mean
something different?
Best regards,

Subject: [Electronics-Talk] Evaluating bar code scanner apps
Colleagues:
I have been following the discussions of the comparative efficiency of
PC-based hardware and iOS approaches to reading product bar codes. It
occurs to me that this task can be compaired to identifying bank notes.
I note that many users of VoiceOver find that Money Talks to be the best
of the money identification apps. The app uses the video camera
available on the iPhone and identifies the note immediately once there
is enough information for the app to evaluate. Similarly, I'm curious if
any of the bar code scanning appes use this "video" approach.
Applevis might be a resource to review app evaluations or pose this
question.
Best,
Brad Hodges
