Yes, the sound is sometimes a problem with the LifeProof case.  By sometimes
I am talking about if you hold it in such a way to obstruct the sound, or if
you lay it down on a soft surface like the bed or up against things in a
purse or backpack.

I tried the LifeProof case but it interfered with the sound a little, I
thought.
