I saw this on another list:
Hi Gary,
I recommend a brand called Emotiva that's made in Franklin, Tenessee.
I have their CD player their pre-amp and two of their 500 watt mono
amplifiers.
The preamp has 9 buttons and is easy to operate.
This equipment is minimalist and sounds good
No flashing lights or useless menus.
I bought direct from the manufacturer.
You won't find these at Best Buy or any of the dwindling stores that just
sell stereo equipment.
Hope this helps
I don't think they make tuners although I haven't been on their web site for
years.
Another outfit that sells good non-flashy gear is
www.audioadvisor.com
They are based out of Michigan.

I got a Yamaha amp recently. The amp itself is not very accessible it has
an input select nob and surround select nob with no set locations for a
given input it just displays the selected input on the screen, zone select
is also on the screen. However once this amp is connected to your Wi-Fi via
wireless or a direct cable the Yamaha I phone makes the amp completely
accessible using voice over. More over you can control the amp from any
location in your Wi-Fi network.
This amp supports many audio streaming formats as well as many direct
inputs. It also supports many online streaming services.
I use the amp exclusively through the app.
The only feature I have not been able to access through the app is the room
tuning modes. Unless you have some serious speakers in a surround
environment you will not need this function. This is also a function you
use only once anyway.
You can download the app for free and if you do not have a Yamaha unit it
can run in a demo mode.
hope this helps.

alas my old trusty pioneer receiver has reached end of life.
So, I am looking for suggestions on accessible hi fi gear.
Not in to home theater yet. But have an apple tv, and may get a blue ray
player.
Still have an old zenith vhs hi fi vcr, and a real live cassette deck and
turn table.
What is the sens of the group on accessiblel receeivers?
