Hi Sandra,
Thank you for the info about your slow cooker. I did have one like that years ago, but it was not 6 quarts. I will keep a look out for one like that.

I find the same with a lot of smartphones: it isn’t a question of learning where a certain function is on the touch-pad; the locations of icons can change. I’m going to look into the Easy Mode on my Galaxy Core Prime to see if that makes things any easier...
However, I have a slow cooker that I love, love, love, and models like it are still available. Very similar to the one I grew up with, except the lid is quite a bit lighter for weight. I’d guess it holds like 6 quarts or something. I don’t remember what model it is, but it his rectangular in shape, has a hot plate underneath that could double as a griddle, a glass, slightly-domed lid, and is all metal, so, if you wanted to brown a pot-roast or something before finishing cooking it, you could start with the pan on the stovetop; it’s nonstick, too. Finally, the function is operated by a knob—no detents, just turn it to cooler or hotter temps, depending on what you’re doing; there’s a temp range from low (it stops at low), obviously the stop point on the other side is for high. And, the dial has a tactile pointer; even if it didn’t, if you felt you needed one, you could just put a tiny piece of labeling tape on the dial so you’d have a ref for pointing it. I generally use the high function, unless I’m going to be delayed for eating whatever I’ve cooked, in which case, of course, it can wait on warm. Hope this helps. I looked online the other day, and these are still being offered. I think Westbend makes one, and there are others.
