Hello,
What about the Amazon Echo? It is set up to control appliances in your home.
I haven't tried this feature, but I use the Echo for things including
reading Audible/kindle books or requesting rides from Uber and Lyft.

I do not know if it exists. I do know that there was a key ring. When you
whistled the key ring would make a sound. Is there anything like that?

Does anyone have suggestions for accessible systems for remotely controlling
items in the home, like the lights, or motion detection for controlling the
lights?
Thanks,
Nicole
