Greetings:

While many of us follow technology closely using a variety of
specialized sources, I also find that, from time to time, the
Business/Financial section of the New York Times contains some very
useful and thought provoking information.

An article published this morning entitled "THE SHIFT. TV's Future Is
Here. It's Messy.." is worth a read if you have any interest in the
future of streaming or "Over the Top" television.

The author, Kevin Roose, describes both the impact of the fragmented
state of affairs and outlines a not especially rosy future picture for
OTT television.

The accessibility issues are overwhelming when we contemplate the
proliferation of services and their related apps which Mr. Roose
outlines. He sights Disney's announcement that it will leave Netflix and
establish 2 separate streams, Disney Movies and ESPN as just one
example. Naturally each will offer apps for most if not all of the
myriad viewing hardware platforms and phones.

Will any of it be accessible? Check out the article...

Brad
