[Electronics-Talk] Blue-Ray Players

HI,

I am thinking of giving a blind friend a Blu-Ray player for the holidays, but I know next to nothing about the technology. She would like a device which she can hook up to either her Windows 10 system or her Apple TV. If it's anything like DVD technology, it's the software which determines how accessible the device is. But that may not be a valid assumption.

1. Are there any specific hardware considerations I need to take into account when buying a Blu-Ray player which make it more blind-friendly.

2. I know there are software Media players which allow access to the individual tracks and special features of DVDs. Is there free software which does the same for Blu-ray discs?

3. Can the Apple TV be used somehow to make Blu-ray players/discs more accessible?

4. What are your recommendations for brands and models of players which work particularly well from a blindness perspective?

Thanks for your time.
