What would be nice is if the manufacturer of the phone had a relationship 
to one of the carriers. Most regular smartphones are also very high. I 
believe the iPhone X is $1,000. The advantage is that carriers will let 
you pay for the phone over an 18-24 month period. $599 is an average price 
for a phone, but pretty steep if you have to pay it all at once.
