[Electronics-Talk] iPhone battery was Re: iPhone 5S and IOS 11

You guys make me want to give it a try with your discouragement. During my
life, I've done a number of things that I was told I couldn't or shouldn't
do. However, I agree that one should think twice about messing with one's
iPhone if it is still covered by any type of warranty. Also, If one does
decide to try changing the battery oneself, one should consider that it is
possible that you may cause problems that you will have to pay to have
corrected. Still, I agree with Jim Barbour in another message that one
should be careful to not assume that all blind people can't handle a given
task. The converse of that is that now all blind people can handle a given
task either. Everybody has to figure out their own particular comfort
level. The funny thing is that this is true of sighted people as well.
Many sighted people replace their own batteries on iPhones, but many do not.
>From what I know, this is a bit more complicated than changing the battery
pack on an NLS machine, but if someone has the experience, why not go for
it.

Best regards,

Steve Jacobson

If you're not an Apple Certified technician it's not a good idea to mess
around with the innerds of any apple product especially when under
warranty.
