Colleagues:

For those who may not have heard, Apple has responded to the controversy
created by changes in iOS intended to extend battery life by throttling
back some processes. Beginning in late January, those of us who own
iPhone 6and 6S models will be able to replace the battery for $29, down
from the current $79.

I just contacted the Apple Disability Answer Desk, 877-204-3930, and was
told that a specific start date has not yet been set. The representative
invited me to call later in the month, once dates were announced, and
make an Apple Store appointment to have the batteries replaced through
Disability support. I have used this method to make other Apple Store
appointments with excellent results.

I own 2 decommissioned iPhone 6 and an active 6S, I'm hopeful that this
will be an economical way to extend the useful life of all 3.
