Well, I can see if you want to know that the freezer is keeping the things
the correct temperature but then you could probably tell that by the hard
frozen packages. Personally I don't know if anyone has ever looked at out
thermostat to check or not but things are always good and cold so yes, I
don't see why a freezer need be accessible.

Eh, Peter, please don't take this the wrong way, but, why does a deep
freezer need to be accessible?
I mean, it's not like a refrigerator where you don't want it too be cold or
too warm.
I've never understood why freezers have thermostats. Unless there are ones
that gives one the option to freeze well below zero.
