George,
I use windows 7 with jaws. I've not upgraded yet to windows 10 but as my pc
is old, I have to buy windows 10 soon.
I have the latest version of jaws.
My use of skype is limited. But it seems like the buttons are labeled and
menus are available.
I can send and receive skype calls. I have not tried attachments of files,
but since I see menus, I'd imagine that one option in the menu is attaching
a file.
In skype you can enable keyboard navigation shortcuts in the menu. I use
skype rarely. But I know there are commands to pick up and end calls. I
think to pick up an incoming call is alt page up.
It sounds like you are using NVDA and jaws and NVDA commands are similar so
I am guessing that NVDA will work with skype.
Have you checked your NVDA help system to see if it tells you about skype?
Maybe there is an email address or phone number for tech support you can
contact to inquire the compatibility with skype and NVDA.
Perhaps someone using NVDA can give you instructions off list, but I can
tell you skype works with Windows and Jaws. I know people who use Windows 10
and jaws with skype. Meanwhile, its good you have a way to access skype.
Ashley

Hi.
Could someone else confirm to me if I'm wrong or not?
Can you easily chat on Skype?
Can you send and receive files with the last version of Skype, Windows
10 and Nvda?
If someone totally blind can do so, please tell me how, so that I can
check if I'm having some problem with Skype or with my computer.
I've received a very eloquent chat that just says: "I can do it", but
it's neither convincing nor helpful, because it doesn't tell me how. I
wonder if the problem is that I use my iPhone instead of mp3 players.
I assure you that Skype is very easy to use on the iPhone, because you
have no unnecessary elements on the screen and you will have no learning
curve; you only need to touch the lower part of the screen and, if you
know how to use your iPhone, you will immediately know how to use Skype
on it.
There are just for tugs at the bottom of your screen: "Recent",
"Contacts", "Call phones" and "My info".
If you usually use your iPhone, you should definitely try it.
Please share your experiences. I would like to know if it's better to
use Skype on Windows (if you can chat and send files).
