What is this buz clip, and where do you get it? How much does it cost? I
am hoping to find something that will let me know of hanging tree branches.
Pam.

I have the BuzzClip. We haven't used it much yet, because it came in the
winter and didn't attach very well to a heavy coat. It's meant more to
attach to a shirt collar or pocket. Now the weather is warming up, we'll
give it another try.
It has a clip on the back, and a cord to go around one's neck. It has a
"nose" on the front, which is the part that sends out the sonar signal, so
it seems important that the nose face straight ahead, which takes some
arranging. Then the whole thing buzzes when the sonar signal hits something
within the range, which one sets to either 3 or 6 feet.
When I first tried it, I was distracted by messing around with it, and not
paying good attention to my dog, so he in turn started messing about. But
after a bit I got my stuff together, and the BuzzClip worked as advertised.
I got it for my husband mostly, who uses a cane and is taller than me, so
he's often banging his head on things. I think, if he wears the BuzzClip on
his shirt pocket or collar, it will warn him of head-high obstacles.
We'll see how that works in practice.

Hi,
Speaking of that sort of thing, has anyone tried or purchased the Buzz Clip?

Thanks,
Lauren

It can be a useful tool for doorways, or pathways.
finding openings or even using in long lines of people where you don't want
to be breathing down there neck.
I've only used It a few times myself.

I've used a Mini Guide before. The instructions recommend one only use it
in familiar areas. Especially if you aren't that good of a cane user.

I found it alright. But it really didn't help me much. I walk too fast for
the device. My cane would hit an obstacle a couple of steps before the
guide detected it.
So I abandon using it.

So my advice is to make sure you can return it if you purchase it. That way
you can see if it's for you.
