thanks for the information! I like the idea it can be a rice cooker and 
yogurt maker among other things.
I might buy one sometime!

Yes, it will beep when your food is ready.

It will also work as a rice cooker, yogurt maker, slow cooker, if you other 
things. However, I have been told it does not make as good a slow cooker as 
A traditional crockpot.
