[Electronics-Talk] Mainstream Audible Devices

With an iPod Touch, can you download books directly to the iPod, or would
you have to cable it to the computer? Also, what about Sandisk MP3 players
or Creative MP3 players? Are they accessible, and, if not, is there a way to
make them accessible?

The one thing that comes to mind is probably the "smart phone" like features
you don't want. I'm thinking of an iPod Touch. These are basically like an
iPhone without the phone capability. I haven't owned one but know they do
play audible books just like an iphone.

Probably not -- Audible several years back stopped supporting many devices
and went towards phones and tablets. There is the Victor Reader Stream but
it isn't a "Mainstream" device. Also I would guess that audible files are
copy protected in some manner.

Are any of the mainstream devices that play audible books and
are not smart phones or tablets accessible? If so, which ones, and what has
to be done to activate the accessibility features?
