[Electronics-Talk] Experience with the Philips Hue smart lights app

Any lights that work with Siri or Alexa will be accessible thru Siri or Alexa and wouldn’t necessarily need their own app. I think hue works with Alexa and might work with Siri.

Regarding tactile markings for microwaves, there is a business on Etsy which
creates tactile overlays for appliances to make them accessible for blind
people. I haven't used it, but it sounds like a good thing.

It is called DeWitte's, on etsy.com.

Colleagues:

I'm interested to learn whether anyone on the list has experience with
the Philips Hue smart lighting app for iOS.

Alternatively, if there is another brand which offers an accessible app
I would be interested to hear about it.

Thanks,

Brad Hodges

Brad,

What does the app do?

Annette

Annette:

The app controls the connected light bulbs over a home wifi network. You
can use it to turn individual lights as well as groups of lights on and
off. Bulbs also come in a full color variety allowing the color of the
bulb to be changed to any desired color.
