Hello,

A friend is wondering if there is such a thing anymore as a talking call
waiting machine for his landline phone. He said when he was on the phone
talking to someone, any incoming call would announce the incoming person's
name or phone number.

He said AT&T used to offer this feature and he had it at one time. However
when the price went up, he had AT&T remove it. He missed it and called to
get it back, but AT&T said it was discontinued.

Any help would be appreciated.

Your friend?s only hope for such a device is usually Ebay: although, some here have indicated they saw units on Amazon which will perform the functions your friend is looking for. Just know that the company who used to make the caller ID units has long ceased doing so.
