If you purchase the onyx plus you can get it with either the home kit or
with the car kit. The radio i d is located on the bottom of the box. You'll
need this i d when you go to sign up with xm and activate the radio. We
didn't have trouble scanning it. It would probably be a good idea to have
someone sighted there in case you need any assistance with the process. We
purchased our radio at best buy, and the sales associate assisted us in
setting up with xm and setting the radio up at no extra cost. We don't know
how much amazon is selling this radio for, but we paid $60 for the one with
the home kit. This radio is quite accessible, with the exception of some
menues that you would need getting sighted assistance with, but wonce it's
set up, it's set up. The buttons on both, the radio and the remote are very
user friendly. In fact the remote has a direct button that will give you
direct access to any channel you want to tune too. If you get this radio, we
can send you a list of all the buttons on the radio and all the buttons on
the remote, and a pdf of the manual. If you wan a free xm radio, xm is
offering the onyx easy but we don't know anything about it. If we can help
further just let us know.
