[Electronics-Talk] Spectrum 110 Cable Box Remote

Are you a former Charter customer or a former Time Warner customer? A
former Time Warner customer on another list also had a Spectrum 110
accessible cable box installed recently, and reported that it has turned out
to be a nightmare. The box frequently freezes and sometimes takes up to 30
minutes to reboot, and he is very upset that Spectrum has not been very
helpful about resolving these problems. They basically told him that there
are bugs in the box's firmware that he'll just have to learn to live with
for the time being. Just by coincidence, my standard, non-accessible
Spectrum cable box died suddenly last Tuesday, and I had a new, standard box
installed the following day. I asked the installer whether he knew anything
about the Spectrum 110 accessible box. He told me that although he had
never installed one himself, he has heard from other technicians that there
have been a lot of complaints about this box. He explained that although
Charter and Time Warner are now under the Spectrum umbrella, the two cable
systems are incompatible. The Spectrum 110 box was originally designed for
Charter customers, and Spectrum figured they could make it work for Time
Warner customers, as well, by updating the box's firmware. Apparently, it
has not worked out too well, and I'm glad I stuck with the standard,
non-accessible box.

Hi Everyone,
I just got this because I called Spectrum on something else and asked about
it. I love it. I am still learning it. They have answered any question. I
took notes about each key. It is a much simpler remote. I can now access the
guide and ondemand.

Gerald, I knew nothing about the box until I called Spectrum and got to lay
hands on it. I would advise that you do the same rather than driving us all
