[Electronics-Talk] FW: Spectrum 110 Cable Box Remote (Chris's description of the remote)

Susie,

Thanks for the kind words. I, like you absolutely am head over heals in 
love with the box. I actually have the 210, not the 110, as I wanted the 
DVR ability, but that doesn't in any way at all change the remote used. 
Compared to the crap we put up with with Time Warner before the merge, 
this is fantastic! Is the box perfect, no. For example, we have a 
channel on our box which I absolutely know beyond a doubt is included 
with our Spectrum Silver package: TBN. The stupid thing keeps going in 
and out, and Spectrum can't for the life of them seem to figure out why 
on earth this is happening. They sent things up to engineers, and got it 
fixed for a short time, but then now, it's again saying channel not 
available. The really weird thing is, it works fine in the Spectrum TV 
iOS, and Android app, which by the way, on both accounts, if you've not 
tried since the app back in the days wasn't accessible at all, try it 
again! I tell ya one thing: It now is incredibly accessible! Regardless 
the past history, Spectrum at least now really! should get a pat on the 
back. And, I really do mean that! Maybe in the past they didn't care at 
all, but I'm telling you. Going forward, I really now think things are 
changing. I know having the 210 box has totally changed drasticly how I 
watch TV. I didn't realize how much good stuff was out there, until now 
being able to look through the guide, and the On Demand stuff. And I'll 
tell ya, for the local networks like CBS, NBC, PBS, etc which do it on a 
normal basis, the added audio description ability, in addition to the 
Guide Narration is spectacular! I'll give you all a perfect example.

Tonight, my brother Ron and I were browsing through the guide, and on 
our CBS affiliate, we found the little kids Christmas classic of Frosty 
the Snhowman, followed by Frosty Returns. I remember saying to Ron, 
Well, bro, this thing was released, says the guide, originally in 1969. 
The odds are, this ain't gonna work, but! I can't resist trying. I 
grabbed my remote, hit Options 2, to toggle on DVS, and boom! Hokis puts 
a hat on Frosty's head. He then turns around and does a jig. Audio 
description! There it was! Suffice it to say, obviously, as a child, I'd 
seen this thing many many times, but never ever with DVS included, so 
that was a huge treat getting to relive my childhood with that enabled. 
My point being, like I say, Spectrum has gone such a long ways with 
this. I couldn't be happier with the box.
