Leslie, We found out on the web site that they have boom box type of
satalite radios. In fact I had a friend that got his satalite service with
one of those boom boxes, so I don't know if you would want anything quite
that big. Actually we have our onyx plus hooked up to a small set of
speakers, no fancy speakers, and it sounds great, and so easy to have the
radio hooked up to those speakers. In fact the the set of speakers that we
have the onyx plus plugged into are inexpensive spekers from walmart that
cost about $12 and as I said they sound great. We Have another set of
speakers from walmart that we could plug the radio into that cost about $34
and they sound really great. These speakers are a bit bigger and and have a
deep rich basey sound. We use the bigger speakers for when we're listening
to either the xm app or the cox app, listening to a tv show or music. So you
can't go wrong with inexpensive speakers like either one of these pairs of
speakers and they are so easy to plug in, and to listen too through either
pair of speakers, if you wanted to consider that, but I understand what you
mean, that you'd rather have a readio that you could readily turn on and be
able to listen too with out having to hook up to a speaker or anything else.
If you'd like too, call xm customer service, to let them know what you have
in mind, to see if they have the size radio that you would like with a
speaker built into the radio. The phone number for xm is 866-635-5027, and
also give a call to your local best buy since I know they have the satalite
radios there, and see what they have at the store. I hope you can find just
the radio you would like, and if you find a radio that has the speakers
built into the radio, let us know here on the list about it. I wish I knew
of other sizes of radios beside the boom box size, so it would be
interesting if they did have other sizes of radios. If you have any other
questions just ask.
Arlene
