First, he never said he was an Apple employee, but rather an Apple
developer. He may be an Apple employee, but to become an Apple
developer, you just need to enroll

Second, an article was published recently on Apple Insider talking about
a patent Apple filed recently to have raised keys on an iPhone touch
screen:
