[Electronics-Talk] audio capture experience on verizon page

The other night I was doing what I could do to register my verizon postpaid account. I went into my verizon link, then I went to registing, and it has you put your phone number in the edit box, and it first says when you press the continue button it will send a message to your phone for a code so they know it's you. instead you have to do the capture on the page first which the verizon site has in audio. If some of you haven't heard the audio capture, what you hear is a bit of white noise, then a voice saying about 4 words spoken clearly and the white noise again. Depending on the audio, when it begins, it's as if it starts recording in the middle of the word, or ends the recordings it sort of shops off the last word, so it would be hard to get the words right. What was worse was that friday night when I was doing this there were probably lots of people using the site so it was saying something on the order it couldn't process what I was doing, it was something on that order. This happened an audio that was quite clear and I thought I would get it right. To make a long story short, the customer service person offered to register me, but as long as that capture is there, I feel that this is something I should be able to do. The other thing is suggesting to verizon they do a different kind of audio challenge or whatever they'd like to call it, to reccomend that verizon does the capture in a different way, such as something like adding a simple addition problem, or saying some either numbers or words, but not cut off like the one they have. Unless for now you just have to go through them until you get a clear audio that doesn't have any cut off words, otherwise it seems impossible to get it right, whether the site is busy or not. I'll call the disability department and give them feed back about this, but if anyone has any tips on the verizon audio capture I'd like to know about those experiences, whether it would either help get it done, or when I call verizon I could tell about some other experiences with the capture. Thanks.

Arlene
