[Electronics-Talk] Amazon fire sticks

Hi all,

I recently got the firestick. I'm having a bit of difficulty with the accessibility. When I go into the netflicks ap the voice assist stops reading the menu items. The up and down buttons still work. A sighted friend tells me that the remote is still working, and the items show up on the screen, but the voice assist doesn't read when I go to a new show.

Does anyone have any ideas about what to do here. Has anyone else had this problem. Is the fire stick generally compatable with netflicks, or is this just a problem with the ap?

Any work arounds would be appreciated. I can ask alexa to play a specific show, but unfortunately it always starts at the first episode.

Kind regards,
Ben

it actually only seems to happen on amazon prime, and I did some research since the last time you and I spoke, and it turns out that you can indeed skip the adds by simply pressing the skip button. I'll verify this to be sure but I'm almost positive that you can skip them. I know that was a concern of yours because of your children which makes lots of sense.

How often do the adds appear on the Toshiba Fire tv?
