Make sure you have that special security screwdriver, and a spare screw.
The battery lasts for about four months; your mileage may vary.
To replace the battery, do the following:
1. At the bottom of the doorbell/camera, there's a very small screw.
Take the screwdriver AND CAREFULLY line it up with the grooves in the screw.
2. Turn counterclockwise with one hand, and hold onto the screw with
the other, because if you drop it, you may not find it again.
3. Once the screw comes out, put it in a safe place, e.g., your pocket.
4. Grasp the cover (lower part of the unit), and pull straight down.
As you do this, pull the very bottom of the plastic piece towards you so
the piece comes off at an angle.
5. Once you have the cover in hand, you'll feel the battery underneath
where you just pulled off the cover. At the top of the battery, there's a
pliable piece of plastic. Gently push down, and the battery should come
out in your hands. Remember how the battery fits in the holder.
6. Put in the charged battery, making sure thae plastic tab clips into
the holder.
7. Slide the plastic piece you removed into place and VERY CAREFULLY
replace the screw. If you have some small grabbers from a computer
toolkit, this might make things easier.
8. Tighten the security screw. You should be all set.
Hope this helps.--Matthew Chao
