Well, it goes into lock mode by holding down the * asterisk key.  So, either your keypad is defective, or you are holding it down, or something is on top of it, pressing it.  

I would think you could try resetting it with power off hold down bookmark and 5 keys, and power on.  You could also try removing the battery completely, and putting it back.  Neither of these will probably make a difference, but worth a try -- easier than sending it back to HumanWare.

It works for a few minutes and then returns to "locked." Is there anything else I can do?
