You can do it before it gets really hot by carefully cupping your hands near
the bottom of the pan. Of course, the induction won't work unless you have
the pan on the burner and you can square it accurately when you first turn
the stove on and you can thus  center the pan correctly. It's easier than it
sounds.

My concern with a flat-topped stove is knowing the exact location of a
burner before it gets hot.  I have a stove with regular burners, and I
always put the pan on the burner so the whole burner is covered, or as much
as possible.  I don't see how to do that with a flat-top stove.  I don't
fancy aligning a pan with a hot burner.

Hi I am wondering what kinds of stoves that have flat tops that blind 
people can use.

My parents are in need of a new oven and they are trying to find one 
that is accessible for my mom to use and they found one and it says 
wifi compatible.

What does that mean and does that mean you can control it with a smart 
speaker such as an amazon echo or google smart home speaker?
