[Electronics-Talk] talking ear thermometer

I wonder what the doctor uses. I think mine is in the ear and not for long. I had heard of "taking it in the ear" but I don't believe in that context, LOL.

Thanks, Tracy; I hadn't thought of re-taking my temperature a few times until I got a constant reading, nor have I taken my temperature when I am well; I can do that today.

I noticed that my talking forehead thermometer gives me a lower temperature than a mouth thermometer, so I occasionally take my temperature when I am well, just so I know what “normal” is. Then, if it goes up a degree or more, I know I’ve got a fever.
Also, it seems to take a couple minutes to warm up, so I take my temperature 3 or 4 times in a row until it stays constant.
It’s not the same as the thermometer they use when I go visit a doctor, but it works well enough.
Tracy

When I had a temperature, the only way to tell if I was fine was 1 degree below the normal temp for most people. If the norm is 98.6, mine needed to be 97, anything higher and it was considered a temperature.
