[Electronics-Talk] Accessible flat top stoves

Oh! I've been blind all my life, too, and I grew up using electric stoves.
Gas stoves scare me. Pam.

Dear Tracy,

I am totally blind, since birth, and my preference is for gas, actually, and
I still may check into that when we replace our flattop electric stove
because we already have gas, so someone would have to just run a line to the
stove, but that certainly isn't an option for everyone.

I had help to put fluorescent dots at the side of a burner because that is
what I had on hand.

I am told there are electric ranges with a metal circle around each burner,
but we haven't looked yet, so I don't know if they are still manufactured.

Darla

My concern with a flat-topped stove is knowing the exact location of a
burner before it gets hot. I have a stove with regular burners, and I
always put the pan on the burner so the whole burner is covered, or as much
as possible. I don't see how to do that with a flat-top stove. I don't
fancy aligning a pan with a hot burner.

Hi I am wondering what kinds of stoves that have flat tops that blind people
can use.

My parents are in need of a new oven and they are trying to find one that is
accessible for my mom to use and they found one and it says wifi compatible.

What does that mean and does that mean you can control it with a smart
speaker such as an amazon echo or google smart home speaker?

If anyone knows of a good flat top stove, then email me off list at:

Thank you.
