Several readers reported correctly last week that the link within the main menu to apply for this was broken. So we located a second, functional link at the bottom of the page and have included it here. Please be advised that this is a link to Google Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSds1gP761NVhqiJYZPn_W9-2FgUm3F6hZp5YtZComCgAUGVhQ/viewform?usp=sf_link 6) iOS Custom Accessibility Actions When testing your app with VoiceOver or Switch Control, a common test is to ensure you can reach every interactive element on screen. If these assistive technologies can't focus all of your buttons how will your customers be able to interact fully with your app? Except there are times when hiding buttons from your assistive technology users is the better choice. Consider an app with a table view that has many repeating interactive elements — this could be a social media app where 'like, share, reply' etc is repeated for each post. Or perhaps an e-commerce app with 'wishlist, buy now, add to basket' are repeated for each item. Visually these buttons won"t interrupt your users skimming the list of content, but for VoiceOver or Switch Control users, they will have to visit each one for every item on the screen. This is going to make navigating your app long and tedious, and means your users are more likely to drop out. To improve this: https://medium.com/@r.whitaker/ios-custom-accessibility-actions-fcaa26963c08 7) Scribe For Meetings Browser Extension Now Available Now there are even fewer steps to take when you need to attend an online meeting and want to enjoy real-time access to the digital content presented on screen during the meeting. Then there are the random products that are included, just for fun! We enjoy working with our customers 1-on-1 to their money is well spent and not wasted on something they may not use. In thinking about our customers and whether we will carry a product our guiding motto is that it must be: practical, affordable, simple, tested, and accessible (the pasta principle) and it seems to work very well. What We Do: We bring our business either via zoom, phone, or to your conference or convention, to give each customer a chance for questions and where possible, "hands on" evaluation of the merchandise. Kae and I test and use each product as blind users before we put it in our catalog. In the case of products for guide and service dogs, our own three guides, Thor, Debra and Melody, are engaged in the process of evaluating the usefulness, durability, and/or fun of the product. We want each of our products to be useful, accessible, afforable, and, whenever possible, fun! Our inventory is constantly changing, so a visit to us is never the same experience twice! Sponsor: A.
