Interesting about the drum as mine doesn't do that.  I would find that annoying too.  

So I suppose it would be a good aspect to verify when one is shopping for a front loader to verify that the drum remains immobile.

I like them, too.  Where I live now, everything is front loaders, and it's hard to put the clothes in, because the drum spins while you are putting the clothes in, so it spews the stuff right back out at you.  Pam.
