[Electronics-Talk] Washing machine

Hi.

I would love to know what the exact model of your GE washer is. Some GE
washers have a data port on the back that you can connect a module that
a kid and his dad invented back in 2017 that will voice the options too
so that may also be an option.

Our Samsungs have touch buttons around the outside of the screen. I can
put my thumb on the display at the top edge and go right until I go off
the right side of the screen and hit the top right touch button which is
the my cycle button. It defaults to the last setting you used when you
turn it on, but the my cycle button allows you to set the wash the way
you want and recall it, and then you'd know what the settings are in
order to hit the other buttons the right number of times to change it.
To save the settings onto the my cycle button hold my cycle for 4
seconds or so. The machine beeps when you push the buttons but of course
it's high pitched and I can't hear it. I had heard at some point that
Samsung actually had a talking version of the machine we have, and I
went looking for it just now online and can't find it. The app for
controlling the smart samsung home appliances is accessible at least on
Android. If you get a smart washer that allows you to start and stop it
and such that should simplify using it a lot I would think. I especially
would have liked to have ours be the smart one just for notifying me
when the wash is finished over my phone since I spend most of my time on
the far end of the house from the washer and I can't hear the tune it
plays when finished anyway. This was our first front loader and as far
as I'm concerned I would keep getting that style from now on. We did
have a top loader that didn't have the agitator at one point, I really
like the front loader. I think it does a better job cleaning than the
top loaders too but that may just be me.
