You'll set it up on your own yes, but it does not automatically detect
your WiFi usually unless Amazon Sidewalk is available near enough to get
it connected long enough to learn that info from another of your own
Amazon devices. However, when you first power it on, after you've got
the TV set to receive from the HDMI port the Firestick is on, if you
can't do that on your own right now, replace your HDMI cable going to
your cable box or Direc TV or what ever with the Firestick temporarily
so that you don't have to change the input source on the TV at all. Once
set up, your Alexa Voice Remote may be able to initiate input source
changes so you could move the Firestick or your other inputs elsewhere
and still be able to access everything. To start Voiceview Screen Reader
hold back and menu, that's the second row of buttons 3 wide as you come
from the bottom, the left-most and right-most buttons together for about
10 seconds to be good and sure you waited long enough.

Allow your firestick about a minute to make sure it got all the way
booted up. If it works you'll hear a dling noise and it'll say Voiceview
on and start to teach you how to use it.

I don't remember which generation the Alexa Voice remote starts with,
but if you have an Elxa Voice Remote, you can hold the button above the
big round d pad in and speak to it to do things by voice. You can change
inputs by saying Switch to HDMI 2 for instance, but that requires your
TV to support commands over HDMI, as this does not work by sending IR
signals from the remote to the tv in the traditional way. To be honest,
if you did end up with a Firestick that does not support this yet your
TV does, you might want to exchange firesticks, as this is very handy
for blind users.

You probably have 2 rows of buttons that are 3 wide below the d pad,
then a vertical rocker button that's volume up/down, and a round button
at the bottom which is mute. Above the d pad in the center from left to
right is a lonely button which is the microphone, and just above that is
a little hole that is the microphone itself. In top left corner is a
button that will power the tv on or off if your tv allows that. You may
not have the same remote.

If you google things like firestick voiceview screen reader tutorial for
firestick third generation, it will most likely get you a very helpful
tutorial that should teach you the remote and how to set it up.
