[Electronics-Talk] bar code scanner apps

Hello,

I know about Envision but not the other one. I knew there was another one or
two apps doing object and barcode recognition.

So its Supersense. Is that Sense spelled this way?

Also, what's the cost? Since I have some vision,I don't use the apps much to
identify products and currency so I'm not sure its worth the money. I use
the old fashioned way of labeling with braille for some products too and
have a sighted person first identify it for me. I'd say I use Seeing AI more
for quick reading of products or pages of books for overviews of the
content.

I agree with you Andy its hard to find the barcode and then line it up with
the sensor to scan. I also found that just calling a friend or family member
if I'm alone to identify sonething works good too. I use facetime for this.

Still good to have various options. Does Supersense have a document scan
feature and scene description feature like Seeing AI does?

Thanks,
Ashley

There are Supersense and Envision AI, but they are paid apps.
The main problem with any bar code scanning app is finding the bar code in
the first place. This has been made easier by using a device like the ID
mate Galaxy, but they have recently been discontinued, and cost several
hundred dollars.

Andy
