[Electronics-Talk] An Introduction and Question

People are different and have different interests. Not everyone is willing to tinker to figure something out. Some people just want things to work, and don't enjoy playing with their electronics to figure things out and would rather use them as tools to get to other things in life. Furthermore, this is actually true for most people, which is why software developers strive to make their applications intuitive and easy to use. Just because someone isn't just like you and has your interests doesn't mean they're screaming for attention!

some people want to learn, others don't. The ones who want to learn willing to try and learn the ones who don't, you could talk till you're blue in the face give them something that's really easy to learn and they refused to learn. All part of just wanting attention.

First, the learning curve for the iPhone is really overrated.
The hardest part is learning how to touch the screen. After that, it's a piece of cake.

I've found that the phone reacts to other body parts, such as your elbow, nose, chin.
And mine reacted to a cold cup of soda when I leaned the phone against the cup accidentally.

And isn't the Blind Shell Phone a flip phone as well as a touch screen model?
Perhaps someone knows for sure.

Would anybody have any good suggestions on a good flip phone for the blind. I've tried to give my mother my old iPhones and she just can't understand how to use it. No matter how hard I try to just tell her let's start with the basics on just say using Siri and just make a phone call but she just doesn't wanna touch it

Jen:

It depends if you want a simple flip phone, or a smart phone.I am sure there will be a debate among members about the advantages and disadvantages of each, but, in this day and age, I think a smart phone would be a good choice.

As for me, I think the iPhone has the best in accessibility, but that will probably be debated also.Hahahaha.

There will be more of a learning curve for a smart phone, but worth the challenge.Do you have access to any Apple stores? They have classes for blind users, at least, they do where I live.
