[Electronics-Talk] {Spam?} RE: Streaming Services Instead of Cable TV

I can't get Fios TV where I live because of Comcast's stronghold on the City
of Alexandria, VA.

I have decided that I personally do not want to pay for a streaming service
for TV at this time, since I don't watch that much TV in the first place.

I ordered Magic Jack for phone service for my home and received 15 months
for just a little over $66 which averages a little over $4 per month for
phone service that I can take anywhere I go.

So the last piece of the puzzle is internet. So I will go back to FIOS
which I used to have but left when I wanted a bundle. At that time, Comcast
was reasonable and I was watching a bit more TV then so I added more
channels and the total cost now for TV/Phone/Internet is just over $230.
Then adding other items such as Cellular Service, I spend about $290 per
month altogether and need to trim my budget currently.

I will be able to save about $100 or more, depending on which internet speed
I choose, once I cut the cord.

There's a lot on my Fire TV through Amazon that I can watch as well as Pluto
TV has many of the channels that I enjoyed watching before. Along with
other free apps, it's amazing what's there. I will miss Turner Classic
movies though which have some very well-described old classics.

The decision to cut the cord is obviously up to what one's personal
preferences are and available budget is <smiles!>.

I had Verizon Fios for phone, Internet, and TV. My package was under $200 (
(I think about $168, which was a pretty good price). I think it is worth
looking into.
