[Electronics-Talk] Hot Shot

There's also a model of the Kuerig which has a 48-ounce reservoir so you
don't have to fill it that often. Then it has push-buttons and no touch
screen for Energy Saver, on/off and three buttons from left to right for cup
size.

Then there is a larger button on the right of the cup size buttons for
START.

So just to get hot water, you merely place the cup mug or bowl under the
dispensing apparatus and press the cup size and the start button.

Tracy,
I would also suggest a single serve coffee maker like a Kirig. There are
many different models, but if you are just looking to use it for hot water I
believe there is a basic model that is what you're looking to spend. The way
they work is they have a water resavor that you fill up and then you put a
coffee or tea or whatever kind of pod in the machine and it runs the water
through the pad and drips into your cup. If you are just looking for hot
water you could use it the same way without putting a pod in and it would
just come out as hot water.

Gerald, how does the single-server coffee maker work? Is it the thing you
often find in a hotel room? I really am not interested in a coffee maker,
as I'm happy with my French press, but I can see how one could be used just
to boil water.

Sherry, can you recommend an electric kettle I could check out? There seem
to be lots of kinds.

Jim B, thanks for the link, but a water dispenser isn't quite what I want.
I'm thinking pretty small, and not more than $40 or so.
I got my old Hot Shot at Target, so maybe it would be worthwhile to toddle
over there and see what they've got, even if it's a coffee maker.
Tracy

The Sunbeam Hot Shot has apparently been discontinued and is no longer sold
by ILA or Maxi-Aids. It was introduced years ago before single serve coffee
makers became popular products, and so became obsolete because single serve
coffee makers can heat water just as well as a Hot Shot and brew coffee to
boot.
