Agreed, renewed, refurbished, recertified, and whatever other
re-whatever words they come up with all mean the same thing, it was
returned for some reason, which could be anything including buyer
changed mind, and was sent back to the seller. It may have been
tested, it may have been fixed, it may not have been fixed, but it may
or may not have passed whatever test(s) they deem necessary to be able
to claim that it can be resold at a lower price. Note that they may
not legally be able to sell these returns for the full price.
Having purchased many such items, I can say that one has to put these
items through their paces to ensure that they indeed do work as
expected. Sometimes it seems that whatever was wrong with the item was
not looked at at all but luckily that isn't the case in most cases.
