I will be switching phones this year because Verizon is updating their network to 5 G or some higher network status.

My phone will be too old to run on their new network.
My need for a portable phone remains simple. My phone should be able to make calls, have accessible menus so I can independently access my contacts, calendar, and alarms as well as read out text messages. I have low vision but expect I’ll use speech because no phone I’ve found magnifies the text except for some smart phones.


It would be nice if the phone could connect to internet to read email too but that is not totally necessary. Most flip phones also have alarms, timers, and some have stopwatch abilities. That would also be good to have in a phone.

So anyone have suggestions? I know Arlene posted in last June about a LG classic phone  but the message Arlene sent said it ran on another carrier.

Please tell me what features talk and what kind of voice it has; like male or female.

I find little phones hard to use because even phones with buttons have buttons so small, so close together too!
One feature I love about my current cell phone which btw does not talk much, is the feature that uses voice commands. When you press a certain button, you can speak to it and have it call someone in your contacts. For instance, I say call Steve to reach my brother. This has been very helpful because its hard for me to dial since the buttons are so close together. 
The old LG exalt did this too and the gusto 3 but those phones are no longer sold and may not even be supported.
