[Electronics-Talk] Ring doorbell users

I think I paid $199 for my Ring Doorbell 2 from Amazon. It has both a
hardwired and battery option. I chose hardwired since that worked well with
the doorbell that was already there. I had an electrician friend install it
and it took him about five minutes. I got the camera for the back of the
house for $69 on Prime Day. It is normally $99.

I love Ring. And I'm curious, what happened to you?
The videos can be sent anywhere meaning that a person viewing the videos
doesn't have to have a Ring camera.
I love ours.

We need to get something like a Ring video doorbell, after an issue that
happened recently.
We want to be able to speak to whomever is at our door without having to
open it.
Product recommendations welcome with pros and cons necessary as well as
cost, etc.
I thought about Ring because we have Echo devices, but it doesn't have to be
Ring.
What can all of you add to this search we are on?
Thank you.
