[Electronics-Talk] Modern Landline Phone Service

Ok. I plugged the splitter into the modem. I have a phone cable from the 
phone to the splitter and another going from the splitter to the wall. The 
phone in my bedroom still will not ring. It is one of those phones that 
needs to be plugged into the wall since it is a conference speakerphone. 
Should I try another phone? In my room there are a set of double jacks. I 
have tried both with the same result. I get touch tones but no dial tone.
