[Electronics-Talk] Accessible Stoves

Hey, that's a nice stove you have from one of the best brands.

Have you considered having it serviced?

Many appliances nowadays have apps and are accessible to smart speakers.

Also if you find a brand you like, contact the manufacturer and ask for
their accessibility department or if they know of braille or tactile
overlays. Many appliances can be enabled more accessible as you have with
applying new dots to older appliances and/or obtaining overlays and so on.

The stove that is in my home is from when it was built in 1976. It is all
analog. I have learned that I can use the microwave and a couple of other
small appliances to replace using the stove top and it's more energy
efficient to do so. However, a fully functioning stove is useful at times.

Subject: [Electronics-Talk] Accessible Stoves

Hi, Folks. I'm looking into buying a new stove in a year or so. My
question is: Are there any accessible stoves for totally blind folks,
especially regarding using the oven? I have a Jenair stove with a flat
cooktop. The top's controls are accessible (knobs) but the oven's all touch
controls. We put Hot Dots on some of the buttons, but they eventually came
off. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.--Matthew Chao

P.S. May be looking for an induction range.
