[Electronics-Talk] Insignia TVS

Hi,

Yes 5G plans via phone providers just aren't ready to deliver a lot of bandwidth. This is why their internet service is so inexpensive.

I have no sluggishness from my Fire TV which is a Toshiba that I bought a few years ago.
I have a 1Gig connection through Verizon VIOS.

I certainly believe that 5G should improve as more equipment is deployed over time. I think it's great too for persons who travel a lot and aren't necessarily staying in a hotel room or otherwise where they have access to a reliable wi-Fi connection.

Hi everyone,
I had an early model of the Samsung tv dating back to about 2015, I think.
Earlier this year, I had a power outage, and when the electricity came back on, something happened to the tv where it turned off randomly. I called Samsung tech support, and was told it was likely a power surge. I decided to replace it with an Insignia fire tv. I found a great deal on a 32-inch model for $149, and Amazon apparently has a partnership with BestBuy because it was ready for pickup within two hours.
In general, I like the Insignia, but VoiceView is sluggish at times. I don't know if this is due to my 5G Internet from T-Mobile or if there is truly an issue with Voice View.
It reads the prompts pretty well but I noticed it doesn't read everything that is on the screen.
For instance, pairing the tv with my Echo dot which is in my kitchen is tricky because you have to press the menu button twice to unpair and then presss the select button to confirm. Voice View does not provide those prompts.
Since I am used to the Fire TV layout, I will continue with the Insignia, but when it's time to replace it, I would probably go back to Samsung.
