I got this description from someone else. I don't own it, but this is his
review.
Good morning all.
Lately on a number of chat lists, we have been discussing air fryers and
which ones are accessible, easy to use, etc. I recently purchased a duel
basket ninja fryer and my experiences have been nothing but positive. I will
explain below how to use it in such a way that if one decided to purchase
this particular model you should be able to get up and running with little
difficulty.
Description.
Let me begin by describing the control panel.
The control panel takes up approximately the top third of the unit. Directly
below the controls are the baskets which resemble drawers.
>From left to right the controls on the panel are as follows.
At the top left is the power button. Directly to the right of the power
button are two buttons to adjust the temperature up and down. The left
button is for temp down and the right button is for temp up. To the right of
the temperature buttons is the display screen. To the right of the screen
are two buttons for adjusting the timer. The left button is to reduce the
time and the right button increases it. Just to the right of the timer
buttons is the start/pause button.
So that completes the top row.
Directly below the buttons for adjusting the temperature is the button to
control basket one, which is the left basket. Directly to the right of
basket one is a button that I believe is called smart cook. This is used if
you have things in each basket and they need to cook at different
temperatures and at different times, pressing this button will sync the two
zones so they both finish at the same time.
Directly to the right of this button is the cook match button. This is used
if you want both zones to run at the same time and at the same temperature.
To the right of the cook match button is the button for basket two which is
directly below the timer controls.
That completes the second row of buttons.
The third and final row of buttons is across the bottom and contains the
following six buttons.
Air broil, Air fry, Bake, warm up, Hydrate and roast. It's possible I got
the two final buttons confused.
Using the fryer.
Scenario one.
You wish to cook a single item such as fries or chicken wings. If only
requiring one basket do the following.
Place food in basket.
Press the power button which is located at the far left of the top row. The
fryer will emit a series of annoying beeps.
It will default to zone one so if you only whish to use the left hand basket
you do not need to first press the button for basket one. On fryer mode the
machine defaults to 390 F for 20 minutes. If you are satisfied with this you
need not touch the temperature controls or timer controls at this point,
simply press power, followed by the air fry button which is the second
button from the left on the bottom row. If you wish to use one of the other
functions such as bake, air broil or roast you would press that button
instead of the air fry button. Next simply press the start button which is
located directly to the right of the timer controls.
Scenario two.
You wish to cook chicken wings in one basket and fries in the other.
Place food in baskets. Press power to get the thing going. Set the
temperature and time you want for zone one, If you want to set it for 350
instead of the default 390, press the temperature down button. The first
press of this button will simply light up the screen with the current
temperature. To bring it down press the temperature down button again. It
goes from 390 to 375 with the second press, from 375 to 360 with the second
press, 360 to 350 with a third press. From then it will decrease in
increments of five degrees. Of course if you want to adjust the temperature
up go in the other direction.
Next set the time. The timer buttons are directly to the right of the
display and the left hand button is down and the right button is up. The
first press of the button puts the current time on the display. Each
subsequent press of the timer up or down buttons will increase or decrease
the time by one minute.
Once you have set up zone one, press the button for zone two which is
directly below the timer control keys. Next, press the air fry button which
is the second button in from the left of the bottom row. Next, adjust the
temperature and time as you did with basket one. When you are ready to go,
press the start button which is located directly to the right of the timer
controls.
In this scenario it is possible to have the zones come on at different times
so everything is ready at the same time. I haven't tried this yet so I don't
want to write down the steps until I'm sure.
Scenario three.
You have two many chicken wings to fit in one basket.
Load your baskets.
Press power followed by the air fry button. Make any temperature and time
adjustments you want. Next, press the third button from the left on the
second row. This is the match cook button. Press start and both zones will
run at the same temperature for the same amount of time.
The buttons are flat against the panel but are fairly easy to feel if you
put a bit of pressure on the panel as you slide your finger across. I have
chosen to place a little piece of Velcro on the temperature buttons, the
timer buttons, the air fry button, the match cook button and the reheat
button. This makes orientation a bit easier.
I hope this all helps when looking to make a choice.
I did have a cossari smart fryer but I find this one much more accessible
once you have remembered the steps.
When I get a chance to try the other features I will share my experiences.
Enjoy.
Vince
