Hi:

Yes, mine is almost always plugged in unless there is a power outage.

AIRA might be able to help you if the weather radio display is in a
well-lighted area at the time of setup.  The Midland doesn't come with a
full keypad so the numbers have to be selected by scrolling forward and
back.  When I got my first one the guy at Radio Shack programmed it for me
right there in the store but that's obviously no longer an option.

Hi Dennis,

Thank you for replying. I too wouldn't use those alarm clock functions 
and the like. So do you keep yours plugged in the majority of the time? 
That's what i planned to do of course always having batteries on hand 
just in case.

I'm wondering if Aira could guide me through inputting them or if the 
display might not be legible for them via a camera view. I had that 
recently with a printer so now I"m aware that some displays can't always 
be read in such circumstances.
