Since there is no agitator, I can put a lot more  items into the front loader than I ever could with the top loader I had.  Just think about it.  If you have no agitator taking up space, that allows room for more items.

Be careful of stackables.  Those typically run smaller if  they are supplied with a new home.  I would always verify with the sales rep, what the models and capacities are of all appliances provided with a new home purchase are, as well as if one can upgrade the appliance package.

Also, front loaders have more of a tendency to develop leaky seals around the door, and they also tend to have a smaller capacity than their top-loading counterparts.  When I bought my house, it came with stackable front-loading washer/dryer combo.  Just my thoughts.--Matthew Chao
