[Electronics-Talk] OCR Scanner Recommendations

It depends on how serious you are with your scanning.

I am a lawyer and need to scan large quantities of pages quickly.

Consequently, I have a Canon DR-C225. It allows me to take an average sized reference book, cut off its spine and feed the pages through the document feeder to produce scanned text in about 25 minutes.

I have been using the DR-C225 for several years and apart from replacing worn rollers, have had no trouble with it. Considering the price tag is more than $1,000 I would be pissed if it was otherwise.

The scanner you should really consider is the Canon P-215 scanner which is small portable and has a good, but rather limited, document feeder.

I hope this helps...

Subject: [Electronics-Talk] OCR Scanner Recommendations

Hi, Folks. I'm looking to buy an OCR scanner, as I need to scan books and papers. I've heard that Cannon makes good scanners. I want to have automatic document feed (ADF) capability. Plan to use it in combination with docuScan Plus.

Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.--Matthew Chao
