Big difference between a used car and a VR 3. Your point is still valid though.  The 3 was just 3 days old.  who knows what has been done to that device or what hidden surprises you may discover down the line...   You nomos, just blame the manufacture after all, it still has not been proven that the 3 will handle a 1 TB SD card.  Or, if it has, I've not seen or heard it yet.  Smile. I think in the case of selling the stream 3, the person had far too much money to throw away and didn't care that they were taking a 50% loss.  We all have seen or heard ones who purchase 2 of the same thing in case one of them breaks. Must be nice to have so much money.  LOL.
